Alphabetical listing by Author, Publisher or Subject of AYPE Post Cards from a Private Collection
Under Construction, -- the list of Post Cards and Photographs to be displayed on this site-- Listed thru "C"
Publisher, Number and Title of Post Cards or (Postcards) connected to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE). Cards without Publisher information are listed under Unknown and subject. Cards without numbers or Titles are listed alphabetically by subject in the unknown section and a content description is show in italics.
In order to qualify as an AYPE era post card the card content should meet one of the following Classifications:
Class “A”: (By Association) Be shown in an article or publication with written reference to the Fair, and be made available before or during the Fair. A post card published with the AYPE Seal or Logo on it ties the same contents by any and all publishers, as an AYPE card. The title on the post card and the picture cropping may vary. Some purists refuse to acknowledge any card that does not have a Seal/Logo or written reference to the Fair. This reduces the number collectable cards by about 50%.
Class "E": Contain pictures of Exposition buildings, events or grounds.
Class "S": Contains an AYPE Seal or Logo
Class "PM-E": Card contains an “Exposition Station” or “Worlds Fair Seattle 1909” Post Mark. no effort has been made, so far, to catalog this unlimited class of cards. The “Exposition Station was the only Postal Station on the Fair Grounds.
Class "R": Card has printed information Refering to the Seattle Fair or Exposition. AYPE or AYP.
Class "UW": card pictures Washington State University at Seattle or University of Washington building, U of W or UW building or grounds before the AYPE.
Class “UW-P” refers to cards which are of the University Expo site and are Post Expo yet interesting enough to be collectable.
